All praise is indeed due to Allah alone. I am writing this first with complete tawakkul (faith) in Allah and great hope in the ability of our ummah to come through in support of anything good for the community, especially in this only month of Ramadan. This year I have sent about 3 appeals and alhamdulillah the community has responded.
We have gone from less than $100,000 about a year ago to $700,000! Alhamdulillah. Unfortunately we have just another $375,000 to go and LESS THAN A WEEK to do it. And do it we can, InshaAllah. All we need in this blessed month of Ramadhan is 375 people donating or loaning $1,000 each and inshaAllah we will get there.
Furqaan Academy Bolingbrook has been operating in a Masjid in Bolingbrook, Illinois, for 2 years and has now found a property adjacent to the Masjid for its full-time Hifz and Islamic School. We have negotiated and renegotiated the purchase price for the 18,000 sq.ft. 3-storey building to $1,075,000 (one million and seventy five US dollars). After missing many deadlines to close, and having sharia banks locked up in beauracratic nightmares, we have come this far and are at the point of risking losing the building completely. Our final deadline is August 31st, 2010. Since the seller has a backup buyer, we will lose this building and this chance for good. It is rare to find a building ready for use as a school right adjacent to a masjid. This is a great opportunity for the community, one we cannot afford to pass up.
My dear brothers and sisters in islam. I humbly appeal to you. It is perhaps for the better that the banks are out of the equation. InshaAllah we will be able to get the building in cash with your help. I know there are many projects that you support. Please respond to the urgency. WE WILL LOSE SOME OF OUR EARNEST MONEY if we do not close this building on time.
Alhamdulillah our curriculum integrates the Hifz of the Qur’an, along with Mastery of the Arabic language. Remember the reward for supporting a child reading just one letter from the Quran.
The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Anyone who shows the way to something good has the same reward as the person who does it.” (Al-Muslim)
“Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “Laam” is a letter and “Meem” is a letter.” So increase your recitation of the Qur’an to gain these merits, and to gain the following merits as well.” (At-Tirmidhi)
